Hibernation in Vegas. No - really

I had a plan.

A view from a lounge chair
I was already meeting my friend in Vegas and so decided to tie in at least one additional day for some R&R beforehand. For those who are not familiar with the Dasha-style R&R, it is called simply "Hibernation". During Hibernation, Dasha puts her social agendas, work and projects aside for a decided period of time,  checks into a hotel and does nothing but sleep and, if available, sauna.

Unfortunately, I was not able to get that extra day in ahead of time but it did not mean I did not get sufficient sleep – wanna know a little secret…Dasha was fast asleep on Friday night in Vegas by 10PM.
True.

(also up at 4:30 on Saturday but that’s another story)

The VEGAS “time-to-bed” bed sleep curve looked something like this over the 3 nights:
It had everything to do with the shopping, drinks, clubs (we went to Ghostbar and Tabu)....
All dolled up to go to Encore
For Myron, who always comments on my straight hair
Spirits in the sky at Ghostbar
Poolside
Glamour Shot
Bartender please...

and lest we forget the interesting characters we met….

Anyhoo - nothing a good Bender and more Hibernation can't cure

The Countdown

Sunday Crowd

Well summer is almost over,  almost...
We managed one last (& first) picnic in Central Park,
which was chill once we all found the SE corner of Sheep's Meadow
Minus the frisbee incident...

never doubted it for a second

Redemption

I was inspired to learn to play guitar when visiting home in Pittsburgh this summer.  Both my sisters and brother play but I have never really shown an interest. At the Lovin' My Oven party, a friend took out his guitar that evening and started to play songs that we could really sing along to and I have to tell you, it was just pure and simple fun.

Impromptu Lesson

Practicing at Home
I have now started lessons and am addicted!  My fingers are absolutely killing me but still - something magical happens every time I pick up the guitar.  As a first song, I am learning Bob Marley's Redemption Song.  It's not necessarily cohesive yet but I am getting faster and faster. And in the meantime, having pure and simple fun.

Won't you help me sing....
