RASKOG

Maybe this name holds little meaning for you but in this household, Raskog is a darling.

I fell in love with Raskog, this beautiful turquoise 3-tiered cart, when doing some online window shopping this Spring. It became available at Ikea a month ago nearby our home and we left promptly at 7am on a Saturday morning to be sure to get her.  After returning home and a rather tough time getting her up the stairs, we opened up our flat box to put her together and found Raskog was in fact Stenstorp, and we were not impressed. The next day, all the 'real' Raskogs were sold and I was left once again to scour the nearby locations on the Ikea website, hopefully checking each store's "stock prognosis".

At one point, Yahtzee even rode over an hour away at the promising show of six trolleys in stock in Connecticut, returning empty-handed to a very disappointed Dasha.

Well this week based on another lead, Yahtzee took a ride out to NJ to pick her up "again, of course calling ahead of time to be sure she was really on the shelf. Tonight he put our little Raskog together and here she stands in all her amazing blue glory, ready to be stuffed to the brim with make-up and perfume and nail polish and scarves and pretty hair clips!

Husband does good.
He's a true blue little darling too.

When moths invade

Room 1
Room 2
Room 3 aka bathroom
Our little flat has become one big closet.
For several days i have been washing folding hanging and CURSING!  Clothes moths have made a meal out of one of my favorite sweaters, and a pairing with a dress and one of Yahtzee's shirts..though i doubt that was near as appetizing :-)

On another note I am taking close inventory…. and I clearly have nothing to wear.

Piggy Hat Season!

Yes, it reads exactly as you think it reads.

Merry Christmas!
Hey, what's going on over there at the Disco?

Well, tonight the temperature started to drop, the rain began to fall, and I began to get excited
As soon as I got home I threw on the Piggy Hat, made a pot of coffee, got out the ink pads and stamps - and for the past few hours been listening to Counting Crows and RCHP as I make our holiday cards and do a little party planning

Dare I say it?
Here at Disco,
its beginning to look a little like christmas
…well Christmas Dasha and Yahtzee style anyway.
Piggy Hat = Creative Mood
The Gluhwein & Xmas Music come later along with the tree decorating and the stocking hanging and the smooches under the Mistletoe!

Just gearing up to the mood we were in Last Year when we were in full swing with Party Preparations and Hot Toddy's - but thats a week or two away still

Mastering the art of Chillaxin'

I am writing this blog entry today from a new outpost.

It seems I have underrated the art of Chillaxin' for years now, leaving it only to vacations and an occasional weekend.  But in the last weeks I have discovered that many activities can take place from this new post, besides the obvious...but even (wink wink), that spawn much creativity and well being.  For the last weeks, I have
  • finished the Patti Smith book Just Kids (inspiring in itself)
  • practiced Give a Little Bit on the guitar
  • listened to Mind the Dubstep mix over & over (its a goodie) - ==>right here
  • drew a self portrait ( i should post this for a laugh)
  • loaded up my grooveshark library with more songs
  • wrote my husband a love letter
  • pondered my life. And the lives of others. This resulted in a letter to myself
  • updated my online picture library and reminisced a little
  • ordered a new pair of James Jeans online after wearing out the old pair
  • worked on my narrative, but nothing really good
  • wondered what the next year or two will bring and dreamed a little
  • and thought about all the things I "need to do" and stayed in bed anyway :-)
So in this spirit, I wish you all a chillaxin' Saturday
